The new bridges have decks of hardwood slats, as the original had, and details like the neat railing running past the end of the bridge proper and its finish in a steel sphere keep a faintly Victorian air. The hanger rods are 22mm mild steel and the cables 35mm spiral strand. The towers are plain and quite elegant rising to a height of 8 yards. [1]
