Balavil Bridge over Raitts Burn

Circa 1800 single span rubble bridge; dressed rubble archring; later 19th century carved polished ashlar parapet with panelled and centre corniced piers; decorative cast-iron railings flank splayed approach. [HER] It is apparant from the arch, that the bridge was widened from 3.6 m to 5.1 m. Some binding-stones connect the two arches.
