Comments :
Gairnshiel arch is 56 feet 8 inches in span, built of coursed rubble with thin voussoirs and a parapet edging of thin flags. The parapet is 41 inches at the top but slopes down to a little as 8 inches. There is no ornament and none is needed. The simplicity of the arch perfectly complements the grand lines of the countryside. [1]
